Very attractive and mostly matching German World War II MG34. Although NFA registry indicates “GROSSFUSS” as the manufacturer, this guns receiver, shroud, and handgrip assembly cup are all matching and were manufactured by Waffenwerke Brunn (dot) in 1943. WaA proofs confirm this, and correction to registry may be requested incidental to paper Form 3 transfer should the buyer desire this. Top cover also matches serial number and was indeed manufactured by Grossfuss (bpr). Buttstock cup and bakelite buttstock are serial 463i. Buffer cup is serial 6973f. Bipod is unnumbered, dfb 1943. Bolt is unnumbered. Barrel non-matching. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good, about 40% mostly thinning to a pleasing even gray patina with more finish remaining forward of the AA sight post, turning a brown patina in places. Actually presents a very nice “combat used” appearance. Firing residue at muzzle and within bore indicate that this has been a good running gun, and this cataloger knew the consignor and witnessed this gun firing at the range. Generally, if the shrouds match the receivers, and the wear patterns indicate it, the MG-34s run well. Mechanics are fine. Bore is dark with firing residue. This is a select-fire machine gun. A great example of the iconic class machined steel German belt fed machine gun from WW 2 ready to take to the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
