Bavarian officer Pickelhaube, which appears to be the type worn during early WWI, with a dull black leather body, which is crushed on the top with several other minor dents and scrapes on the body. Bavarian front plate and spike assembly retain 40-45% of their gilt finish, with the flat chinscales only retaining its gilt in the recesses. Bavarian and Imperial German officer cockades are present. Front plate is mounted with original hardware and appears to be untouched. Top plate mounting is aluminum and one retaining nut has been replaced. Leather sweatband is intact, and silk officer liner exhibits wear and damage to 50%. All the leather appears to have been treated and appears darker. CONDITION: Very good. WZ
