This is a very attractive Savage manufactured (“S” Prefix) 1928A1 Thompson with non-matching numbered upper and lower assemblies, 4 slot Cutts compensator on a smooth barrel, vertical forend, flip-up rear Lyman sight with Bridgeport address on right side of receiver. 1 20 round and 1 30 round SW Co magazines are included. Serial number followed by “NAC” on left side of receiver indicates this gun was registered by Numrich Arms Corporation. Lower assembly is serial number S-527235 with added “NAC”. Numrich assembled and refurbished many Thompsons when they imported them from Britain after World War II. Matching uppers and lowers as they could, but making sure they ended up with as many complete guns as possible in any case. Buttstock has never had sling swivels fitted and is particularly attractive. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance are near excellent as refinished, an attractive smooth gray blue with some loss where the actuator meets top of receiver. Wood is near excellent, exceptionally attractive. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. These Savage manufactured Thompsons are acknowledged as extremely durable and of uniformly high-quality manufacture. If you have a Colt Thompson, you should consider acquiring a Savage as well which you can take to the range and shoot to your hearts content without concern. This specimen is one of the most attractive this cataloger has seen in this category. A fine example. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2020-11-040.
