Extremely fine presenting Erma EMP has commercial eagle over ”N” proof marks on top of bolt handle and on top of rear receiver. Visible numbers match clearly visible on receiver and magazine housing. Wooden stock is marked just ahead of forward hand grip with capital “H” which indicates German Army (Heer) issue. Originally produced commercially in the 1930’s as a police weapon, these are a high quality milled steel machine guns. A significant number of these guns were subsequently taken into military service and used in the invasion of France by German troops. A significant number also found their way to Spain during the Spanish Civil War then subsequently found their way into France coming from the other direction. Selector to right of trigger guard is marked with “E” & “D” for semi and full auto fire. One 20 round German 9mm Parabellum magazine and one 30 round Spanish 9mm Largo magazine are included with this lot. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is near excellent lustrous blue finish with exceptionally clear markings. Barrel shroud may have a bit of touch up refinish. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face Extremely fine. Wood is very solid and serviceable with numerous moderate dings, bruises and handling marks. This is a very attractive piece, especially noting its proof marks of an often overlooked and extremely well made and fun to shoot German World War II machine gun. This cataloger has called this model a “sleeper” in conversations discussing German machine guns. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
