Unfired Colt M16A2 machine gun with “Property of U.S. Govt.” and “M16A2” markings on the left side of the magazine well. Barrel is marked C MP 1/7. Typical Colt logo and address. Correct clear Department of Defense white textile mark at front of magazine well. Military configuration with forward assist, adjustable rear sight, round handguards, bird cage flash hider and bayonet lug. One Colt 30 round magazine and original box with serial number inscribed on one end included. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near mint unfired original finish outstanding composite furnishings. Mechanics are crisp. Bore unfired. Bolt face near excellent. Very rare to find a M16A2 both Property of U.S. Govt marked and with DoD acceptance mark in the civilian market available to collectors as a fully transferable machine gun. Would be the centerpiece of any modern U.S. Military firearms collection. Extremely scarce specimen to obtain, especially in this condition.
