High quality American made Smith & Wesson Model 76 machine gun with “U” prefix serial number. First guns were produced late in 1968 and have a “T” prefix. Once the initial “T” prefix guns were manufactured, the factory produced guns which had a “U” prefix serial number for the civilian and law enforcement market. These guns exhibit the highest standards of fit and finish as to be expected from this maker. This is a select fire machine gun with an ambidextrous safety/selector, hard composite pistol grip with swing-out rubber covered shoulder loop. Firing characteristics are ergonomic and this gun is both controllable and accurate. One 36 round Swedish K magazine included with this gun. The S&W 76 is easily disassembled for cleaning, has good durability, and is relatively inexpensive it making is a great entry level machine gun, and also has appeal to the more advanced machine gun enthusiast. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near excellent original matte gray-blue finish with loss of finish where selector contacts receiver and a stray handling mark discernable only upon closest inspection. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. This is a select fire machine gun. Spare magazines are readily obtainable for this great, reliable, and fun to shoot machine gun. A great "First” machine gun!
