1871/88 Dutch Beaumont bolt action rifle with Vitali magazine conversion. 32 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in 11mm Beaumont (11X52mmR) with model 1879 rear sight with blade front. Markings include year of manufacture (1877) on left of barrel with Dutch proof marks and "3397" also on left of barrel. Receiver is marked with serial number "B" / "801" with matching numbers on entire bolt and cocking piece assembly as well as magazine follower. 1 piece plain walnut stock with iron forearm cap, single barrel band, and military buttplate. Acceptance cartouche denoting manufacture at the Pierre Stevens Maastricht factory with a crown over a "W" denoting acceptance by the government of William III as well as year of manufacture (1877). Marked on buttplate is what is presumably the year that the Vitali conversion was done (1890) followed by "3397." CONDITION: Very good with metal assemblies turning a chocolate brown patina with light pitting overall. Stock is very good with no discernable cracks and some scattered moderate handling marks but is in original condition. Action works appropriately. Bore is dark with visible rifling. -TN-
