Lot consists of: (A) Excellent example of a US WWII front seam fixed bale helmet with liner. This is an early war McCord contract M1 helmet with a "56D" heat stamp. The liner is marked with the Westinghouse Electric Company "W". CONDITION: The helmet shell is in excellent condition and retains almost all of its original paint. There are a few scratches on the exterior of the helmet. Canvas chinstraps are clean with no signs of fraying. This would be unissued condition if not for the exterior blemishes. Liner is in equally excellent condition and only displays a few blemishes. the interior is clean except for a few stains that appear to be from sweat in on the webbing. leather components are pliable with no signs of cracking. Overall excellent. (B) Relic US WWII front seam swivel bale helmet with liner. The heat stamp is illegible. The line is marked with the Seaman Paper Company "S". CONDITION: The helmet shell retains no paint and is rusty on the interior. The liner is heavily tarnished and soiled. There is one significant crack on the brim. About 50% of the hardware remains. Overall poor. JD
