Manufactured in 1891. This was one of Colts attempts to get into the rifle market. Being manufactured between 1884 through 1904 and with only a run of 89,777 medium frame rifles and carbines being made, it was a small run of guns for Colt. It has a blade front and sporting rear sights. Octagonal barrel with a 15 round tube magazine. Checkered walnut forestock and plain rear stocks with a crescent butt plate. CONDITION; Barrel, magazine, and the action retain 30% of the original factory applied blue finish with the reminder turning an even brown patina. Wood is original and has a few dings and handling marks. Good bore with sharp lands and grooves. A nice original and honest rifle. REW
