Manufactured 1955 as per serial number. Later non-lockbar rear sight. Front sight with dot of red enamel paint for visibility. Springfield bolt, cut op rod, 2-54 dated barrel. Stamped trigger guard. Later cruciform gas plug. Stock with circle "P" proof and DOD boxed cartouche. Housed in the CMP OD green case with paperwork, en bloc clip, and blue tag indicating a ME 1+, TE 4, and being sold as service grade in 2015. CONDITION: Good, metal retains the majority of the parkerized finish with normal expected silvering at high points and operational areas. Wood is very good, cartouches partially worn, with normal expected dings and pressure marks from handling and use; forearm with a few deeper hits. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting. Case is fine. EW
