Chinese Norinco Type 56S-2 semi automatic rifle with box. Made late 1980s in China and imported by "IA CO. SAC CA", as marked on the left side of the barrel. "NORINCO 7.62mm CHINA" marked on the right side of the barrel. Matching serials on the receiver, recoil spring, bolt, and carrier. Dust cover is not numbered. Round steel barrel with typical slant cut muzzle brake and bayonet lug. Front sight block looks to be missing its muzzle brake retaining pin and spring. Hooded post front sight with rear sight adjustable to 800 meters. Typical Chinese light blue finish on the metal components. Desirable original red "Bakelite" style furniture. Metal side folding stock. Includes original matching cardboard/styrofoam box with green canvas sling, black plastic handle bayonet and scabbard, green oil bottle, and 3 steel 30 round magazines. Of note, the magazines are European production, and not flat back Chinese. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with some light wear and handling marks. Furniture is excellent. Shiny bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically excellent. Accessories are excellent. Box has edge wear and handling marks, with tape on the edges. JWA
