Starting in the 1960s, Israeli acquired many U.S. manufactured 1919A4 machine guns that were left over from World War II. The Israeli's made good use out of the left over 1919A4s, converting them to fire 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. Many were returned to the U.S. in the 1990s as parts kits, this being one such example. This parts kit consists of a left side receiver sideplate, bottom reinforcement plate, back plate with aluminum grip, barrel extension, trunnion assembly, top cover, barrel, perforated barrel jacket, bolt assembly, a bolt handle, cover catch plate, movable cover catch plate, top cover screw, extractor assembly, front sight assembly, trunnion pad, cocking lever pin, rear cartridge stop, cocking lever, as well as an additional screw and spring. Most components bear Israeli markings. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their parkerized finish, exhibiting varying degrees of wear and handling marks that show through to silvering. Barrel's bore is bright, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. A nice assortment of parts and components that would make for a welcome addition to one's own Israeli 1919A4. -MLW-
