A custom sidelock ejector by Keith Thomas (J. Purdey & Sons / Westely Richards) with back lock action with 26" chopper lump barrels that were built by Art Smith (A.S.), a barrel maker to the British trade. Barrel rifling is sharp. Rifle nitro proofed in Birmingham, England 2010. Left barrel near breech reads "450/.400 3 1/4". A filed and stippled spearpoint rib has one standing sight at 50 yards and two folding sights at 100 and 150 yards. The front sight is stepped and bladed. Rib reads "No 33 N.L. HEINEKE, INC. 201 S. 2ND STREET LARAMIE, WY. U.S." The action is built similarly to the Holland & Holland back action style along with a screw grip third fastener off of the top lever. The action also with a bolstered frame, cocking indicators, set disk strikers, extended top strap over comb, double serrated triggers, rolled trigger guard for right hand shooters and is also non-auto safe. A case colored action is supported with fine rose and scroll engraving with makers name "N.L. HEINEKE, INC." on lock plates. Engravers signature "Jim Blair" in script at right of triggers. The long bottom strap extends to the grip cap (houses an extra front sight) of the nicely shaped and well checkered pistol grip. Nate Heineke from Wyoming, USA manufactured the well executed stock and forend using a reddish walnut reminiscent of a classic Purdey longarm. The well crafted stock has a shadowline cheekpiece, steel engraved trapdoor grip cap, point pattern checkering and a leather covered butt pad. A finely checkered and matching splinter forearm has a Anson styled push button release. CONDITION: Excellent. Overall 98 percent - As new in 2012. CP
