A classic and honorable hunting caliber built by a French master builder. This handsome case colored boxlock double rifle is built with 24" side by side barrels. The barrels are fitted with ejectors, raised matted spear point quarter rib with a standing rear sight. Front sight is a raised island sight with a brass tipped spear point blade and a flip-over moon sight protector. Bottom rib with eye for sling. Left barrel near breech reads "375 Flanged Mag". Breech ends of barrels with light scroll. Bottom of right barrel reads "IMPORTED BY DOUBLE GUNS NASHVILLE, TN". Both barrels stamped "CIP" over "N" near barrel flat. Barrel flat also stamped "CIP" "N" for and with proof. The unique Verney Carron action locking mechanism is stamped "A1956". The very well-executed case colored boxlock action is fitted with disk set strikers, light border scroll, blued double triggers, engraved and checkered top lever, engraved and checkered safety slide. The exterior sidewalls are finely engraved with "L'ATELIER VERNEY-CARRON" in ribbon. The action bottom is engraved "DOUBLE GUNS NASHVILLE" with logo above. Double triggers are protected by a blued and lightly engraved trigger guard that extend to a long bottom strap that is also lightly scroll engraved and bears the rifles serial number "A1956". The reddish-brown well figured European walnut stock is fit with a medium-sized pistol sharp checkered pistol grip with blued steel cap, shadow line cheekpiece, stud for sling, and an orange rubber pad with black spacer. The splinter forend has matching checkering with blued iron metal that is lightly scroll engraved and with a checkered Anson-styled push-button release. Inner forend iron is blacked with serial number. Rifle travels in a Verney-Carron plastic travel case with target, sock, sling swivel, and paperwork. CONDITION: New. Barrels are new, retain all of their original color. Action is tight, case colors are excellent, ejectors are timed well, and triggers are crisp. Stock and forend as new. Case good.
