Winchester M1 Garand semi automatic rifle with bayonet. Made June 1944. Springfield production barrel dated "1-55", with Department of Defense eagle stamp. "W.R.A" marked bolt, and trigger guard. Trigger group is actually Springfield marked, as is the operating rod. Post-War CMP marked commercial style stock, with "DOD" style eagle. No import mark. Standard weight barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear. Receiver, operating rod, and other internal parts have a reapplied blued finish. Barrel, gas tube, and trigger group retain their original parkerization. Oil finished wood stock with serrated metal trap door butt plate. Front sling swivel is missing incudes a cut down 1905 M1 bayonet with M7 scabbard. Rack number, "K1911" on the hilt. Ricasso marked "EN S/E_US" all around a "flaming bomb". CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its reapplied blued finish. Parkerized parts retain 75% of their original finish. Wood has handling marks, dents and scratches. There is a crack in the rear hand guard, staring at the chamber and moving toward the muzzle. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Throat erosion gauges at a "1", muzzle is a "1" as well. Mechanically fine. bayonet has wear on the blade with some patina forming on the blade. Hilt is loose. Mismatched plastic grips have good checkering. Scabbard has finish wear. JWA
