M-1 carbine made by Quality Hardware in Chicago, Illinois between March 1944 and May 1944. "Underwood" marked barrel dated "11-43". Gun has double serial number stamp indicating gun has been through a rebuild. Gun has correct but mixed internal parts with late style bayonet lug and rear sight with flip style safety. Walnut low wood unmarked and uncut stock with walnut 4 rivet unmarked forearm. Gun has 15 round "U" marked flat bottom magazine. Comes with USM4 Imperial manufactured leather handled bayonet with green composite USM8 sheath marked with B.M.Co. manufacturer's mark. Also comes with green woven sling and oiler. CONDITION: Original arsenal finish fading to a silvery patina with excessive grease remaining in protected areas. Some slight corrosion from poor storage. Shootable bore with ME of 2 and good mechanics. DLM
