This full-sized reproduction .45-70 Gatling Gun manufactured by “Valley Machine Co” and so marked on right side rail, along with serial number 82883 visible in unpainted rectangular area of steel receiver rail. Balance of steel rails have a nice black paint coverage. Barrels are 32” long. Gun measures 53" long, and sets 48" high without magazine, 68" high with magazine, on a really neat contemporary custom built rolling tripod. What unexpected ease it is to move this item around on the 8" diameter wheels of this tripod. Large brake levers at each wheel hold steady when one wants this to stay put. 1 stick magazine with spring loaded follower is included. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine with nearly complete coverage of black enamel paint on steel parts with a pleasing patina on brass parts. Mechanics are fine and the 10 barrel cluster rotates and the bolts remain in battery just as they should. Gun has been fired significantly but rifling remains strong in the barrels. These Gatling guns are great fun at the range especially if one can get a steel drum filled with water or a telephone pole sized tree to shoot at. .50 caliber machine guns punch holes but .45-70 will make a steel drum move!
