Colt Medium Frame "Lightning" slide action rifle built by Colt Firearms Company in Hartford, Connecticut between 1884 to 1902 and according to authorities under 84,000 are antiques with this one made in 1894. Blued round rifled barrel with Colt address and patents and marked at breech "38Cal" with sheared blade front sight and rear notch adjustable sight. Blued medium frame with blued full magazine and solid frame. Walnut plain straight stock with blued crescent steel buttplate. Walnut plain slide handle with etched line border carving. CONDITION: 80% fading blue with balance fading to a plum patina. 80% varnish with light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
