Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand semi automatic rifle. Made 1954. Barrel is marked "HRA", dated "10-54" and retains a boxed eagle Department of Defense mark. Rear sight, gas plug, bolt, operating rod, and trigger group are all marked "HRA". Standard blade front sight and rear adjustable aperture. Original parkerized finish on the metal components, minus the operating rod which has been reparkerized. Smooth oil finished walnut stock is modern made. Includes attached reproduction leather sling, an 8 round en-bloc clip, bayonet and CMP hard plastic case. Bayonet is marked "U.C./U.S." for United Cutlery, on the ricasso. 10" blade with serrated plastic grips. Scabbard is marked "U.S.", inside a flaming bomb. Bayonet has been refinished with a gray phosphate finish. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finishes with some light wear and handling marks. Stock is excellent. Bore is clean with sharp rifling. Throat gauges at a 0, while the muzzle reads 1+. Mechanically fine. Clip, sling and case are excellent. Bayonet is very good with some cleaned pitting visible under the phosphate finish. scabbard has some light discoloration. JWA
