Colt Medium Frame Lightning slide action rifle. Made 1895. Two line company address/patent dates on the top of the barrel in front of the rear sight. "32 Cal" marked on the chamber. Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. Octagon steel barrel with German silver blade front sight. Buck horn style v-notch rear leaf. Original blued finish on the metal components. Wood stock and forearm retain their original oil finish. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with general wear and some brown patina. Screws heads are marred. Stock has handling marks and scratches. There is a 1 - 1/4" hairline crack on the right side of the tang. Bore is frosted, but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
