SP1 AR-15 machine gun manufactured by Colt in the early 1970s. The left side of the receiver bears the Rampant Colt logo within a circle followed by "COLT/ AR-15" above "CAL. .223/ MODEL SP1/ SER. SP22206" with stampings stipulating the manufacturer information present above the selector switch. Three-position selector switch is marked "SAFE", "FIRE", and "AUTO". Bottom of barrel is stamped "C MP C". Lower assembly has been nicely refinished, likely at the time of conversion. Features include a 20" barrel, A1 pattern flash suppressor, triangular polymer handguard, early pattern upper receiver without brass deflector, carry handle rear sight, as well as a checkered polymer pistol grip and A1 pattern buttstock with butt trap. Accompanied by one 5-round Colt magazine, one 20 round Colt magazine, as well as one 30-round magazine. CONDITION: Excellent overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their finish, exhibiting a few minor handling marks overall, and showing few indications of wear. Mirror bore, retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Polymer furniture is excellent, showing few and minor superficial handling and storage marks.
