National Postal Meter M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle. Made early 1944. Barrel is marked "ROCK-OLA", but is not dated. Adjustable rear sight is Inland production, while the front sight is Underwood production. "JM" marked band/bayonet lug. IBM marked trigger housing. "U" marked on the inside of the slide. Postal Meter marked bolt. "JL-B" marked stock and "RSG" marked hand guard. There is a "66" rack number on the bottom of the wrist. "PP" marked proof on the wrist. Original parkerized finish. Stock was lacquered at some point. No magazine is included with this rifle. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with general wear. The slide has some grind marks on the exterior. Stock has light wear and exterior scratches. There is some wood putty lining the right side of the inside. Bore is lightly frosted with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
