Saginaw "S.G." M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle. Made spring of 1944 by Saginaw Gear in Saginaw Michigan. Barrel is "W" for Winchester, and has an import mark on the left side. Inland marked adjustable rear sight, with the front sight being marked "L" on the right sight. Inland marked band/bayonet lug. Slide and trigger housing are also Inland production, while the round bolt is IBM marked. Flip position safety. Stock is marked "HI" and the hand guard "OI", both of which are Inland contractors. "200" rack number on the bottom of the wrist. Metal components were all reparkerized post-War. Stock has its original oil finish. Includes an original green canvas sling and a "COGLIZER/TENT & AWNING CO." marked 2 cell magazine pouch dated "1943". Also included are 3 magazines, 1 being an unmarked 30 round, a 15 round Union Hardware magazine and an Inland marked 15 round magazine. CONDTION: Metal retains 85% of its reapplied parkerized finish with general wear and handling marks. There is some dried red grease on the right side of the trigger guard. Stock has a few dings, dents and scratches. Bore is clean overall with great rifling. Mechanically fine. 30 round magazine is excellent, both 15 rounders have light surface rust. Sling and pouch have some light discoloration. Tight stitching on the pouch. JWA
