Pre Ban Colt SP1 semi automatic rifle. Early rifle made 1965 making it Curio and Relic eligible. Left side of the magazine well is marked with a rampant Colt pony and "COLT/AR-15". This is all above "CAL .233/MODEL SP1/SER SP 04708". Early style company adress markings on the left side of the receiver. "12" marked on the top of the barrel, for the twist rate. Early style chrome bolt and phosphate finish carrier. Round steel barrel with an early pronged flash hider and bayonet lug. Standard post front and flip adjustable rear. Full slab side lower with no forward assist on the upper. Metal components have a phosphate finish. Factory polymer furniture, including the iconic triangular forearm. Early full rubber butt pad with no trap door. Includes one 20 round Colt magazine, an original early manual and a black nylon sling. CONDITON: Metal retains 97% of its original finish with a few handling marks. Furniture is excellent as well. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light wear. JWA
