Built in 1951 this dangerous game Nitro Express double rifle built in England by the world-renowned rifle and shotgun manufacturer Holland & Holland is built with chopper lump 25" blacked steel barrels. The barrels are appropriately fit with ejectors and a 3/4 spearpoint rib with express leaf sights - one standing at 50 / 200 yards and one folding marked for 350 yards. Both sights with silver line indicator. Spearpoint rib is filed and fit with bases for scope. Front raised island sight is stippled with silver-tipped blade and fold over moon protector sight with brass and glass indicator. Center rib is smooth concave and reads ".375 "MAGNUM." RIMLESS CARTRIDGE". Bottom rib reads "MODELE DE LUXE", "MADE IN ENGLAND.". Top of barrels read "HOLLAND & HOLLAND", "98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON". Bottom of barrels are stamped "35200". Barrel flats are stamped with appropriate London Nitro Proof markings, 375, 2.85" and "COR.MKI 58-300 MAX". Barrels also fit with loop for sling. The case colored hand detachable sidelock with gold line cocking indicators is also built with bolsters, disk set strikers, treble grip locking mechanism, and double triggers (front being articulated). The rifle is engraved with deluxe scenes of mythical creatures of dragons, serpents, hounds and ancient scroll. "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" is engraved stacked above each other ahead of lockplates near action knuckle. Fences are deep relief engraved with mythical serpents with bird-shaped dragon heads. Bottom action is engraved with similar ancient scroll, mythical creatures, and reads "MODELE DE LUXE". Top lever is engraved with scrolls and right-hand side of thumbpiece is checkered. Long case colored top strap is engraved with matching scroll. Safe slide is blacked, engraved, and checkered. Action is auto-safe. "SAFE" in gold. Trigger guard is blacked with matching engraving and has a right-hand rolled edge. The full-length bottom strap is also blacked, with floral engraving and with the rifles serial number "35200" in a ribbon. The European walnut stock has been built with a slender sharply checkered pistol grip, beaded cheekpiece, adorned with drop points, and a case colored scroll engraved steel grip cap with trapdoor. Trapdoor houses a spare front sight. The reddish-brown straight and smoky grained stock is also fit with an oval for initials/crest, loop for sling and finished with an orange Silvers pad. Matched checkered splinter forend has and Anson-styled push-button release, engraved escutcheon, engraved diamond pin, and blacked engraved iron metal. Interior iron metal is blacked and with serial number "35200" engraved. Beautiful vintage rifle lives in its leather case with matched London address black and silver trade label, charge card, Holland & Holland round nickel oil bottle, horn striker pot with spare strikers, cleaning rod, cleaning tools, nickel-plated snap caps and with vintage Hernsoldt - Ftzlar Dialytan 4x scope in leather case protector. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain nearly all of their original factory color. Rifling is very good. Action is mechanically sound. Ejectors appear to function properly. Triggers function well. Action with lots of case colors remaining. Stock is very good with light handling marks. Forend is good with some handling marks from use. Case is good with exterior handling and storage marks. Great double rifle from one of the great makers. CP
