Winchester Model 1890 slide action rifle. Takedown model made 1896. Standard company address on the top of the barrel. Model name and patent dates on the top of the tang. "22 SHORT" marked on the chamber. "J.R./19410" is marked on the chamber, against the frame. Octagon steel barrel with blade front sight and aftermarket 3-position flip rear. Barrel and magazine tube have their original blued finish. The frame is case colored. Wood stock and ribbed forearm. Stock finish looks to be re-applied. Crescent metal butt plate with varnish on it. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finishes with general wear and handling marks. Stock has a few handling marks and scratches. There are a few freckles of white paint on the forearm. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
