German WWII Heer M40 helmet marked "Q64" for the maker of "Quist, Esslingen", in a shell size of 64, with a lot number of "xN522". Likely to be a wartime reissued helmet. Shell retains 80-85% of its reissue rough gray-green paint, with areas of freckling where the finish is damaged, and storage dust and dirt. Interior retains approximately 60% of its smooth gray-green finish, with the remaining areas freckled and dirty. A very faint outline of a Heer decal is visible under the paint on the left side. Original zinc liner band is present with heavy freckling, was likely part of the reissue process, with rivets which retain their smooth gray-green paint. Liner is complete, untouched, in a darkened medium tan color, with a size stamp of "57", with moderate fraying and damage to the leather. Drawstring is not present. Chinstrap is not present. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
