Springfield M1D semi automatic sniper style rifle with CMP hard case. Receiver made early 1945. Springfield Armory barrel dated "6-52". No import mark found. Springfield marked bolt and "NM" marked operating rod. Winchester marked trigger group. Faint DOD eagle stamp on the left side of the stock, and "P" on the wrist. Original prong flash suppressor attached. Metal components have been arsenal reparkerized. Stock was refinished at some point with a light oil finish. Standard checkered metal butt plate with trap door. Scope is a contemporary made M1D pattern scope (unmarked), sitting on an original M1D base and mount. Original leather cheek piece marked "MRT/1-52" on the right side. Includes a 1960s dated green web sling and original CMP hard case. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% or more of its arsenal re-applied finish with light wear and a few scratches. Stock has a few handling marks as well. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Throat reads at a 1. Muzzle was not gauged as the flash hider seems to be stuck on. Mechanically fine. Scope is excellent with a clear optic. Case is excellent. JWA
