This is actually a Mark I M machine gun, originally manufactured by Inglis of Canada in 1943. Electronic registry indicates manufacturer as “Bren”. Marked on right side of receiver "MK I M". Nitro proof, and “tons per” markings on barrel which does not match receiver serial number. Gun is non-matching yet refurbished with fine black enamel finish. No lightening hole in magazine catch, no provision for buttstock disk. Charging handle is of the folding type. Accessories include tripod without AA extension leg, original metal magazine box with 12 magazines, spare .303 barrel, bolt, gas regulator knob, and carrying strap hooks. The Bren gun is generally accepted to be one of the best light to medium machine guns of World War II and is particularly popular with collectors and recreational shooting enthusiasts. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near excellent, smooth, black enamel refinish with fine to extremely fine wood with some handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine to near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun.
