Possibly the oldest piece in this auction. The finest cardboard lithograph. Rare unusual horizontal shaped cardboard box has magnificent illustrations in beautiful colors showing the sequence of life. The sad young widow is depicted on one end panel, showing the word AT with a space next to it. Side panels show colorful pairs dancing. Lid has colorful fireplace/home scenes and the edges of the box beautiful illustrated pairs of animals – bears, turkeys, chickens, ducks, pigeons, rabbits, and fish. Nice images on all four sides.
