MG Z optic manufactured by Emil Busch during WWII for use on the lafette tripod. Front of optic is stamped "BUSCH" in cursive above "Rathenow" and the serial number "41894". Next to the serial number is a blue circle, indicating use of Vakuumfett 1416, suitable for use in conditions with temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celcius. Rubber eyecup is not present. Optic is accompanied by an original MG Z optic transit carrier that bears a partially discernible ink stamped "(Eagle) / WaA346" waffenamt on the interior of the lid. Brush and lens filters are not present. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining large amounts of their olive drab painted finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and light surface oxidation present on blued components. Optic is clear save for a few minute scattered black specks. Transit case exterior retains much of its reapplied green finish, exhibiting scattered spots of flaking and a few minor dents overall. MLW
