German World War II Heer M40 helmet marked "ET62" for the maker "Eisenhüttenwerk Thale", in a shell size of 62, with a lot number of "1271". There is a coat of heavy varnish present on approximately 50-55% of the helmet's surface. The borders of the remaining varnish have a tan appearance due to partial flaking. The varnish has flaked off in the remaining areas. A Heer decal is present in 80-85% with heavy coat of varnish over approximately 75%. The the interior retains approximately 40% of it gray-green paint with freckling, dust, and dirt. Remnants of a name in white paint is present on the skirt. Original aluminum liner band is present and is bent in some areas. Liner has moderate to heavy damage, with heavy staining, dryness, and flaking. Original drawstring is present and the chinstrap is broken, with the broken piece being tucked under the liner. CONDITION: Overall fair. WEZ
