German World War II Heer M40 camouflage helmet marked "SE64" for the maker "Sächsische Emailler", in a shell size of 64, with a lot number of "8204". Shell retains 80-85% of its tan brush applied camouflage, with stains and discoloration. No decal is present, or visible under the paint. This style of camouflage is similar to others with provenance to the Southern European theater, and even North Africa. Tan camo is also applied on the interior skirt area, and it is approximately 75%. The dome area retains approximately 60% of it gray-green paint with freckling, dust, and dirt. Original zinc liner band is present and appears undisturbed. Liner is original but is a replacement (likely postwar), is intact, appears to have been treated, in a dark brown color, and having staining, dryness, and light flaking. Original drawstring is present, and there is an illegible name. Chinstrap is an aged reproduction. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
