German World War II M1918 single decal transitional helmet. Helmet has been era painted black and has a Heer decal, which identifies the helmet as being the type used by the Third Reich's railway protection (Bahnschutz) entity. Helmet has no visible marked which may be the result of the layer of black paint. Exterior retains approximately 90% of its black paint. The interior only had black paint applied around the inner rim and that is 90%, while the crown area has its original gray-green paint, with 70-75% remaining with freckling dust and dirt. The Heer decal rates 90-95% with some light scratches, and its coat of lacquer which glows light green under a blacklight. The M31 liner assembly is heavily damaged with only 4 of its 8 tongues remaining, with a size stamp of "55" present. A third of the leather around the liner band is missing. A zinc liner band is present. Both the M18 and M31 chinstrap mouns are present, but the chinstrap is missing. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. WEZ
