Thompson Model 1928 manufactured by Auto Ordnance in West Hurley, New York. The left side of the receiver is stamped "US.MODEL 1928" above the serial number, followed by "THOMSPON SUBMACHINE GUN / CALIBER .45MI". Right side of receiver bearings patent information followed by "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION / WEST HURLEY, NEW YORK, USA". Top of receiver and top of compensator bear the Thompson bullet logo. Receiver, barrel, and trigger assembly exhibit a lustrous blue finish, with some small components being parkerized. Trigger assembly has been refinished at one time, with the bottom rear exhibiting a parkerized blue finish. Foregrip, pistol grip, and buttstock are comprised of solid walnut. This example is accompanied by 1 50-round drum magazine, as well as 2 30-round magazines. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their blue and parkerized finishes, exhibiting some areas of wear and some minor marks from handling and storage overall. Bolt assembly exhibits oxidation overall but is otherwise serviceable. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Walnut furniture exhibits a few minor handling marks and impressions from storage and handling but is otherwise fine. A very nice example of an iconic American submachine gun.
