A classic and honorable hunting rifle is designed by Paul Demas and built by the French master builder. This handsome coin-finished boxlock double rifle is built with 23 - 1/2" mono-bloc blued steel side by side barrels. The barrels are fit with ejectors, raised, lightly engraved spear point quarter rib with express rear sights, 1 standing and 2 folding, standing is gold lined and the folding are marked 50 and 100. Front sight is a raised island sight with a silver tipped spear point blade and a flip-over moon sight protector with white tip. Bottom rib with eye for sling. Rib is engraved "500 NE". Breech ends of barrels with light scroll. Bottom of right barrel reads "Imported by Verney-Carron USA, Inc. Clay Center, KS". Both barrels stamped "500 NE" and "AR" under crown near barrel flat. Barrel flat also stamped with "AR" under crown and "AA". The unique and strong Verney-Carron action with its triple hook and triple recoil face locking mechanism is engraved with the rifle's serial number "A1037" and stamped with "2" & "C". The coin-finished scalloped boxlock action is fit with reinforced bolsters, disk set strikers, gas escapes, rose bouquets, English scrolls, double triggers, engraved and checkered top lever and an engraved and checkered safety slide. Rifle is non-auto safe. The action bottom is engraved "Atelier-Verney-Carron AZUR SAFARI". Double triggers are protected by a lightly engraved trigger guard that extends to a long bottom strap that is also lightly scroll engraved. The reddish-brown well figured European walnut stock is fit with a medium-sized sharp checkered pistol grip with right-hand palm swell has a lightly engraved coin finished capbox, shadow line cheekpiece, stud for sling and a brown "Decelerator" rubber pad with black spacer. The beavertail forend has matched checkering with iron metal that is lightly engraved and built with a checkered Anson-styled push-button release. Inner forend iron is coin finished and jeweled with serial number "No A1037" engraved. Rifle travels in a black felt covered travel case by Unique Cases. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain mostly all of their original color and rifling is very good. Action is tight, ejectors are timed well and triggers are crisp. Stock and forend with light handling/storage marks. Case is also good. Nice, strong double rifle. CP Proceeds from this item benefit the 501(c)(3) charity, Take a Kid Hunting Foundation. www.BobandRocco.com
