Very clean French MAS 1949-56 semi automatic rifle with box/accessories. Made late 1950s and later arsenal refurbished in 1978, noted by the boxed "P78" stamp on the left side of the receiver. Vertical serial number and "MAS MLE 1949-56/CAL. 7,5" marked on the left side of the receiver as well. Import marked on the right scope rail. Matching serials on the receiver, bolt and dust cover. Standard sights and grenade launcher. Factory reapplied parkerized finish on the metal components. Arsenal sanded and oil finished wood stock/forearm. Smooth metal butt plate. Includes 3 original magazines, cleaning kit, cleaning kit pouch, leather sling, night sight, night sight pouch, rubber butt pad, tool kit (with broken shell extractor), tool kit pouch, manual and a "69" dated bayonet. All this comes in a homemade silver painted cardboard box. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% of its arsenal reapplied finish with a few handling marks. Wood is excellent as well. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Accessories are all excellent, with most sealed from the importer. Box is excellent. A very nice MAS 49-56 for your collection! JWA
