Lot consists of: (A) Civil War hand made knife which was constructed out of a scythe blade. The knife features a clip point blade with a deep fuller, ending at a crude ricasso. The handle is of wood and features a brass ferrule. Complete with leather scabbard CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of cleaning as well as obvious delamination flaws. The handle exhibits various scratches and dents. Scabbard exhibits leather loss and wear. The knife is accompanied by a note from the consigner which states the history of this knife from when it was purchased from the original collector who stated the knife was from southern Maryland along with other Confederate items. (B) Civil War Era knife with a curved blade. The blade was crafted from an old file which is evident throughout the blade. The knife also features a smooth wood handle. The blade is marked "D.A. FINNEY" CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of sharpening and wear. Handle is intact with no major flaws. Overall good. (C) Civil War Era knife with a thin blade which was constructed out of an old file. The blade exhibits the old file pattern on both sides. The knife also features a stag handle. CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of sharpening and cleaning. Stag handle is complete with no cracks or chips. overall very good. PROVENANACE: Ex. Rich Guckes Collection. JLD
