Lot consists of: (A) Civil War Era bowie knife that features a clip point blade that was modified from the original spear point blade. The knife also features a silver crossguard, ferrule, and pommel. The ferrule and pommel are nicely decorated with modest scrollwork and compliment each end of the stag handle. CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of sharpening as well as a gray patina and areas of pitting. Silver has acquired a nice patina and the stag handle is complete with no chips or cracks. Overall good. (B) Civil War Era hand forged knife. The knife features a spear point blade, ovular crossguard, short wood handle and brass pommel. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a dark patina and several areas of pitting along with obvious delamination flaws. The handle exhibits deep dents and the brass pommel has darkened with age. Overall fair. (C) Civil War Era clip point, stag handle knife. CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of cleaning as well as areas of pitting and spotting. The stag grip remains secured to the handle by a metal nail on each side. Grips are intact with no major cracks or chips. Overall good. PROVENANCE: Ex. Rich Guckes Collection. JLD
