One of the most successful and iconic battle rifles in history, Fabrique Nationale's FAL has garnered usage from numerous countries around the world due to its high quality and reliability. This example is stamped "F.A.L.cal. 7,62" followed by its extremely low serial number of "007" on the left side of the receiver, with the right side being stamped "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE_HERSTAL BELGIQUE". Selector switch is marked "S", "A", and "R". Features include a black enamel finish, 21" barrel, standard FAL pattern front and rear sights, olive drab fiberglass forend, carry handle, smooth black polymer pistol grip, as well as a solid wood stock. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, left side of the pistol grip, as well as on the bolt carrier and bolt. NFA Registry lists the manufacturer block as "Belgium FN/FAL" over "Peru". Magazine is absent. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory-applied black enamel finish, exhibiting standard wear through to silvering at the selector switch, but otherwise showing virtually no signs of use. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Furniture is excellent, with the buttstock showing a few very light marks from handling and storage. An exceptional example of an extremely low serial number FAL machine gun manufactured by Fabrique Nationale, and a perfect gun for the James Bond Enthusiast. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. MLW
