MLE 1949-56 semi-automatic rifle manufactured by St. Etienne in France. The left side of the receiver is stamped "MAS MLE1949-56/ CAL. 7,5" over "P84" within a rectangle, signifying this rifles year of refurbishment. Integral optic rail is marked with a "CIA" import stamp. Features include a parkerized finish, 20 - 3/4" barrel, compensator/grenade launcher, post front sight, grenade launcher leaf sight, adjustable peep rear sight with graduations from 100-1200 meters, as well as a solid wood forend and buttstock fitted with a rubber recoil pad. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver cover. Bolt is matching via an electro-penciled inscription. Complete with French instruction manual. CONDITION: Excellent as arsenal refurbished, with metal components retaining nearly all of their arsenal reapplied parkerized finish, save a for a few minor superficial handling marks and the usual spot of wear on the right side of the receiver from the magazine retainer. Very bright bore, exhibiting some areas of light inactive oxidation, but otherwise exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Solid wood furniture is excellent. MLW
