MPi-69 submachine gun manufactured by Steyr. These MPi-69 submachine guns were designed by Steyr in the 1960s, beginning production in 1969 and ending in the 1990s. This example is stamped "STEYR-DAIMLER-PUCH A.G./ MADE IN AUSTRIA" followed by the Steyr logo and an "L.E.S." import stamp on the top of the receiver. Features include a phosphate finish, 10" barrel, post front sight, peep rear sight with graduations from 100-200 meters, polymer lower assembly with a vertical foregrip, as well as a collapsible buttstock. Matching numbers are present on receiver, lower assembly, barrel nut, as well as the bolt. Barrel is unserialized. The Mpi-69 submachine guns were equipped with an unusual charging handle, which also doubles as a sling loop. This feature was later eliminated in Steyr's MPi-81 design, which used a conventional cocking handle. Green canvas and leather sling is present. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory-applied phosphate finish, exhibiting some areas of silvering from operation as well as disassembly. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be some light grease or firing residue within the lands, but otherwise retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Polymer lower shows some light superficial handling marks overall, with a hairline crack present on the left side at the safety button. A very attractive Curio & Relic eligible example of Steyr's MPi-69 submachine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. MLW
