1 of only 158 L1A1A rifles imported by Joe Poyer. These rifles were manufactured by Lithgow specifically for commercial sales within the US, being built on receivers that were manufactured to prevent any utilization of an auto sear. The left side of the receiver is stamped "RIFLE, 7.62mm, L1.A1.A", with the right side bearing a "JOE POYERS / ANTIQUE ARMS / ORANGE CA" stamp between 2 "S.A.F.830136/ AUSTRALIA" markings. Selector switch is stamped "S", "R", and "A", with the switch unable to reach the "A" position. Left side and bottom of receiver exhibit Australian proofs. Features include a black enamel finish, 24" barrel, birdcage flash hider, bayonet lug, post front sight, folding adjustable peep rear sight, adjustable gas regulator, carry handle, as well as a textured black polymer forend, pistol grip, and buttstock. Bolt carrier and bolt match the receiver via an electroenciled inscription. Rifle is accompanied by its original importer cardboard box containing its styrofoam insert, 1 additional magazine, as well as its original hangtag. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory applied black enamel finish, exhibiting few minor marks from handling and storage overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Polymer furniture is excellent, with the buttplate exhibiting a small gouge on the left hand side. An extremely fine and desirable Lithgow L1A1A rifle, imported by Joe Poyer. MLW
