July 12-14, 2022 Collectible Firearms & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 7/14/2022
Scarcely encountered in the US, few North Korean made Type-63 rifles were imported, mostly as bring backs during the Vietnam War. This non import marked example remains in its standard military configuration with a 20 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in 7.62x39mm, protected post front sight, and tangent rear sight. The dust cover features a stamped North Korean star in addition to the model designation. Metal components, excluding the bolt which remains in the white, are blued. The stock is a red lacquered laminate with several military stamps and a trap butt plate. Rifle retains its folding blade type bayonet, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit. CONDITION: Very good. The vast majority of arsenal applied blue is retained with some areas starting to thin and some scattered marks. The stock shows scratching, impressions, and some spots of finish loss as often encountered on service rifles. Bore is bright and crisp. Fine mechanics. Matching serial numbers observed throughout.
