American Airlines aluminum desk model of a Lockheed L-188A Electra. This example most likely dates from the late 1950s-early 1960s, as American Airlines ordered 35 L-188As which were delivered between November 1958 and March 1960. Constructed of aluminum, the model is decaled to resemble one of the 35 Electras which were ordered by American Airlines. The N-Number "N6102A" is present on the tail According to the FAA Aircraft Inquiry, this number is consistent with one of the 35 L-188As which were delivered to American Airlines with a certificate issue date of 01/30/1959. The model was presumably property of American Airlines and resided in the office of an executive. The Electra's wingspan is approximately 18 - 1/4". All 4 of the propellers are missing and were presumably clear plastic simulating rotation. The decals are nicely preserved but exhibit some wear. Pock marks on the underside of the fuselage. Missing original stand but the model has accommodations for a replacement. Smooth finish with scattered blemishes. Overall good.

Condition: (Good).

Item Dimensions: 19" x 18 - 3/8" x 5".
