Large Circa 1950s Eastern Air Lines "Great Silver Fleet" L-749 Constellation promotional display model. Originally composed of DC-2s, the Great Silver Fleet was strengthened in the 1950s with the introduction of the L-749 Constellation. Constructed of aluminum, the L-749 is decaled with standard 1950s Eastern Air Lines colors and logos. This model appears to be decaled with rounded windows, which would correctly identify it as an L-749, as the L-1049 Super Constellation featured rectangular windows. The N-Number "NC70000" is decaled on the tail. The fuselage is hollow and the model is very light, but is mounted on a heavy cast iron stand which was painted black. The model measures approximately 19" tall with a 33 - 1/2" wingspan. Underside of the fuselage is marked "L.C. 34-345". The decals are heavily worn with some exhibiting heavy loss and peeling. All 4 propellers are present, but one prop on the #1 engine is broken (prop is present just detached). Smooth texture with scattered dings and scratches throughout the wings and fuselage. Areas of corrosion noticed, especially around the engines.
This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
