Small but presentable model of an aluminum Western Airlines Lockheed 188A Electra. This example most likely dates from the late 1950s-early 1960s, as Western Airlines ordered 12 188As which were delivered between May 1959 and February 1961. Constructed of aluminum, the model is painted and decaled with standard Western Airline colors and logos. The N-Number "N7135C" is present on the tail and and right wing. According to the FAA Aircraft Inquiry, this number is consistent with one of the 12 Electras which were delivered to Western Airlines. The model was manufactured by W. Osgaard and is marked as such on the bottom of the fuselage. Mounted on a wood base marked "LEE DISPLAYS", this teal painted gridded circle was most likely a later addition when the original stand was lost. The Electra was mounted in such a way that it is able to rotate and be displayed at an angle. The model measures approximately 12" tall with a 9 - 1/2" wingspan. 1 of the 4 aluminum propellers is missing. Paint exhibits various scratches and scuffs but remains presentable. Wood base exhibits scattered blemishes.

Condition: (Good).
