FAL semi-automatic "paratrooper" rifle manufactured by Fabrique Nationale and imported by Browning Arms Company in the 1960s. The initial batch of "G Series" FALs manufactured by FN were imported by Browning Arms Company as semi-automatic rifles, but were subsequently reclassified by the ATF due to ease of converting them to fire fully automatic. This ultimately resulted in FN altering the remaining "G Series" rifles in accordance with the ATF's regulations, with these rifles being considered the "G Series Type II". This example is stamped ".308 MATCH" on the left side of the receiver, with the right side of the receiver bearing Fabrique Nationale's manufacturer information followed by Browning Arms Co.'s importer information on the magazine well. Metal components exhibit a black enamel finish, while the muzzle brake is parkerized. Furniture is comprised of a brown polymer forend, black polymer pistol grip, as well as a side-folding "paratrooper" buttstock. Receiver bears the full serial number "G13803", with the pistol grip, barrel (beneath the forend), bolt carrier, and bolt matching via "13803". Interior of magazine well "wall" is stamped "910577". Rifle is accompanied by an additional parkerized bolt carrier and receiver cover, 2 buttstock removal tools, front sight adjustment tool, gas regulator adjustment wrench, as well as an extractor/bolt disassembly tool. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory applied black enamel finish, exhibiting an area of wear below the ejection port at the rear, as well as some scattered superficial nicks and marks from handling and storage. Mirror chrome-lined bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Polymer furniture is en suite, exhibiting a few minor nicks and marks from storage and handling. An excellent example of a rare and desirable Type II "G Series" FAL rifle. MLW
