U.S. M-1 Carbine made by Underwood between July of 1943 and March of 1944. 18" "UNDERWOOD" marked blued barrel, dated "1-44" with Flaming Bomb. Arsenal post-War rebuilt rifle most likely for use in Austria with "N" marked milled front sight, Type III rear sight, and bayonet style "IS" marked front band. Trigger guard marked "LGKST / 2058" which stands for "LANDES GENDARMERIE KOMMANDO STEIERMARK" and a rack number. Inland marked trigger group with mixed parts, later flip safety, and M-2 style magazine release. Recoil shield is marked "LJ". Mixed internal parts with flat style bolt. Tiger striped beech oval cut low-wood stock marked with serial number in sling well and uncut for M-2. Walnut 2-rivet top wood marked with serial number of gun. Comes with leather sling, "S.G." marked 15 round dented bottom magazine, and CMP Authenticity Paper. CONDITION: Overall good with 90%+ arsenal finish on metal remaining. Stock has been lightly cleaned with light handling marks. Good bore with ME of 2 with good mechanics. A great looking carbine. DLM
