U.S. M-1 Carbine made by Winchester between December of 1943 and November of 1944. 18" "UNDERWOOD" marked barrel dated "5-44" with Flaming Bomb. Arsenal post-War rebuilt rifle with "N" marked milled front sight, Type III "I.R.Co." marked rear sight, and bayonet style "MMQ" marked front band. "W" marked trigger group with mixed parts, flip safety, and M-2 style magazine release. Recoil shield marked with "PR-8". Winchester numbered slide well with flat style bolt. Walnut oval cut "P-U" low-wood stock with no cut for M-2 and marked with original Underwood markings on right with "AA" Arsenal rebuild mark on left and "SAA" San Antonio marking on right with "P" on grip. Walnut 2-rivet top wood with "IO" stamp. Comes with CMP letter and 15 round "IS" marked flat bottom clip. CONDITION: Overall good with 90%+ arsenal finish on metal remaining. Stock has been lightly cleaned with light handling marks. Good bore with ME of 2 with good mechanics. A great looking carbine by desirable contractor with unusual usage of parts. DLM
